Pinpointing Your Local Internet Service Providers

Internet service providers are very interested in your business, and they are preparing deals, packages and bundles that are sure to be interesting to you. Many of us, however, don’t feel qualified to understand all of the intricacies of a technology like broadband, and so we may feel a bit cautious about plunging in. A little bit of research on the basics can help you feel more confident as you assess what ISP’s are offering. Without a doubt, the best promotions are found online because these companies know how easy it is to conduct a side-by-side comparison of their deals with the competition.

DSL is the most well developed network for internet service in my area, and DSL providers don’t disappoint. Right now AT&T is offering basic service at $19.95 a month, with cash back deals and free modem. This is not very far off what many people are paying for dialup, and this basic speed package boasts speeds 14 times that of dialup. There are three other speeds available in AT&T’s basic DSL service, so check them out and see if their network extends to your location. If not, chances are good that Verizon’s network does. Verizon has three speeds in their basic DSL service, and their incentives include the first month free plus free modem.
